I composed Marimba Movie for marimba and woodwind ensemble in 2009 and arranged the work for marimba and piano in 2018. The ensemble version is scored for solo marimba, piccolo, 2 flutes, 2 oboes, 2 Bb clarinets, 2 bassoons and contrabassoon.

It's a joyful, rhythmic piece in a broadly ABA structure, with rapid outer sections and a slower, mellower central part. The music employs a distinctive recurring theme combined with a dialogue of lucid textures between the instruments.
